I charge them from a 1A constant current source and the panel cuts off when charged. They do not balance the batteries but they cut out on overload so all is well so far. Review: Almost perfect - Got these to build a 12 volt battery pack for a pond pump. Using 24 x 18650 Samsung batteries from a dead E-bike pack and one of these boards, I soon had my pump up and running. The pump pulls 1.5 amps and runs for about 2 hours a day. Charging is from a 25 watt solar panel and charge controller. Only problem is the transistors on the board get very hot at times when charging. A small aluminium heatsink solved that! I used an old low voltage, programable timer to switch the pump on and off. Now working a treat. At just over a pound for the BMS, I am very happy with the result. And I have two spare....just in case! 25/8/24 Now built a second battery pack for another job, and decided to see if the low voltage protection done its job. It did. At 2.4 volts per cell, it just shut down. Put it on charge (small solar charging setup) and was back up and running a few hours later.
