Reviewers on multiple sites noted that these shoes would be really small and to size up when buying them, so I got one in a size 8. Turns out, my normal size 7 fit perfectly. The 8s had way too much room in the toe and heel.Portability:My primary purpose for these shoes was to have an emergency pair of flats on hand when my sky high stilettos started killing my feet while out dancing with the ladies. I figured I could spend a little more and get shoes that lasted rather than the Dr. Scholls fast flats that everyone seems to say fall apart quickly. These were pretty decent for my purposes. Unfortunately, they really don't roll up to be too small. I had to smash the backs down a bit but eventually got them to fit into my crossbody bag. The bag ended up being pretty bulky, but my feet were so thankful I had them with me by the end of the night.Comfort:They aren't as comfortable as everyone seems to suggest. I really wish these types of shoes didn't have so much elastic because they backs just end up digging into your heels even if the shoe is the right size. That part was really disappointing because I had hoped I could wear these as occasional flats when I needed a cute pair of black shoes. I wouldn't dare try that though, as they were digging into my heels when I did very minimal walking. Having said that, my feet were so tender from dancing in heels all night that the heel pain was totally acceptable compared to the alternative. Also, that 'sock' lining is just a nuisance. It bunches up, so you end up stepping on random folds, which is uncomfortable.Stylishness:These aren't hideous, but they're not spectacular. You could certainly find a cuter, non-portable version, but that wouldn't serve the same function. They kind of just look like generic flats. The nude ones were a shiny patent leather that looked really cheap and pretty tacky, so I would stick to the matte black or some other matte color. The black ones were way better in comparison.All in all, I did rate these as 4 out of 5 stars because they are decent shoes for being rollup flats. I didn't pay full price and I wouldn't suggest buying them for full price either. I really needed a pair of comfortable black flats though, and at one third of the list price these were a pretty good deal. I took the advice of another reviewer and did a little home surgery to correct the elastic cutting into my heel, and they turned out acceptably well. They are perfect to wear with anything, you can wear them with dresses, shorts or pants :) I'm very tall woman 5'11 and when I go to Las Vegas I need a very comfortable cute shoes to wear with my dresses since I dislike to wear high heals when I have to walk a lot. These are the most comfortable cute shoes I have ever had. I own over 7 pairs of black flats all different styles and my Ballasox are the ones I always reach for.
