## Description

An unassembled plastic model kit of Maverick’s F-14A from the 1986 film “Top Gun” in which the rebellious aviator Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is pitched against the “best of the best” in aerial combat at the top pilot school.

Review: Good kit and Fun to build! - I bought both this F-14 Tomcat and the newer F/A-18 “Maverick” kit in 1/48 scale. My 13 yo son built the F-14 all by himself. I think this is his 3rd or 4th model kit he’s built. Kit comes ONLY with 1 pilot. My son borrowed the back seat pilot from another kit. Painted the whole thing with Valero and Testor’s Model Master Acrylic paints. He used a airbrush and compressor kit to paint the exterior. Came out great and he really enjoyed building it as much as he enjoyed watching the “TOP GUN” movie for 1st time. In my opinion, this kit can be easily and completely painted by hand without the need for a airbrush.

A: Overall the airplane itself was nice I came across issues with fitting and I put together about 5 f14s b4 this one and I was over it and bought a better f14 and just used the top gun decals that came with it

In every Revell of Germany kit painting directions are provided for the building of the model. These directions reference the line of hobby paints sold by Revell of Germany in Europe. However, these paints are not imported into North America and are not available. So in an effort to help model builders in North America, the chart below provides comparable paints more readily available. It lists the 3 most popular brands found in local stores.
While many have a different name than the Revell Germany color, the actual colors have been matched as closely as possible. Please note the RAL number references the Official German Military Color system similar to the USA Federal Standards guide used by the American military.

Best priced model for the scale that I could find. You have to pre-fit pieces and some required some fine adjustments to fit. Wish building with landing gear up was an option.
