Serving a warm, freshly-baked pound cake with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream is sure to impress your guests. Ingredients for the Perfect Cake Here’s what you’ll need for this recipe 1 ½ cups of unsalted butter, softened at room temperature 3 cups of granulated sugar 5 large eggs at room temperature 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract 3 cups of all-purpose flour, sifted 1 teaspoon of baking powder 1 cup of sweet milk Before we dive in, remember to preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit and generously butter a 10-cup cake pan. Step 1: Cream butter and sugar In a large mixing bowl, beat together 2 cups unsalted butter and 4 cups granulated sugar until they are light and fluffy. This should take around 5-7 minutes.
