While it's an older device that doesn't offer 5 GHz service it does work quite well. A plus is the software supplied on a CD provides nice control & monitoring of the device as well as other wireless devices in range of your computer making it easy to change channels if you're experiencing channel interference from your neighbor. The unit also offers a little green LED near the top of the wireless adapter which lets you know if the adapter is talking to the internet. I've got an average sized suburban home and the adapter provides coverage throughout the house as well as into the back yard. I'm presently using the adapter on Windows 7.I'm using the adapter on the provided Dynex software and NOT the Windows software. The installation of the software was a trouble free process with no driver issues. In fact, after I loaded the software on an XP machine, I plugged in the adapter and the computer picked it up with no additional user input.The adapter stand that comes with the DX-BUSB has pretty good weight in the base making it stable or you can just plug it into the USB ports on the back of your computer if there's no chance of anything hitting the device.
