**Q: For how long can it run before the batteries hve to be replaced?**
A: I measured mine and it's pulling about 300 microamps from a fresh battery at 1.6 volts. A good quality AA has around 2500mAh, so this would yeild around 8,333 hours of runtime (347 days). However this assumes the clock can use all the batteries capacity down to well below 1 volt.
Best bet is always to use a good quality alkaline and you should see around a year.

**Q: Description says not use alkaline batteries but aren’t all AA batteries alkaline ? Which to use then ?**
A: There are rechargeable NiMH ones - that said I’ve an alkaline one in (Energiser Max) without any problem. I think the silent movement draws more current from the battery, which could indicate why a ‘max’ battery works ok

**Q: What is the height of the motor caseing from bottom to the top of the hang bracket?**
A: Not any small hands

**Q: What size hole do you need for this**
A: 8mm dia is best size.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A tale of two clocks

I had 2 clocks in need of repair: one with a short-spindle motor and the other with a long-spindle motor. This item looked perfect. The short-spindle repair went like clockwork (😫) while the other needed lots of work to get it to fit! The motor dimensions were only slightly different, but every millimetre was vital! The extra clock hands are really useful. Both clocks are now working well and silently. A little annoying that the delivery charge almost doubled the cost.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect replacement

Really good value quartz clock motors, great price for 2 plus a choice of fingers, these motors were a perfect fit for the original fingers so we're not needed this time. Some people love the ticking sound but I wanted silence & these make no sound at all. Just beware there are 2 spindle lengths & with thin clock faces the protusion may be too great, I suggest thick packing washers at the rear as a way around this problem. So far as time keeping goes after 1 week they have not needed adjusting.
