I've since discovered two important criteria to consider when purchasing a cold shoe mount:- Can this mount be tightened in any orientation? Yes. We all know how frustrating it is to mount something to a rig and have it tighten while facing the opposite direction. The thumb fastener under this cold shoe mount allows you to tighten the mount to your rig in exactly the orientation you need. That's a necessity.- Do I really need the thumb screw for width adjustment? In my case, no.
