These are not the same as the white plugs that normally go into the main BT phone box. Therefore if you only have phone leads that plug into the BT box then you’ll need adapters as sown as frequently bought together on the item in Amazon. **Q: Is this "unlocked" or is it tied to a specific voip company?** A: This one is not and the interface will connect to any service you have the access codes for. This was the second model, as the first one had to be returned because it was tied to Cisco systems. Be sure to follow the setup schematics from your supplier exactly, down to the last detail. **Q: Can this be used to plugin a standard bell ringer for hard of hearing?** A: I don't think so.
