**Q: How does the screen and pad actually attach to the holder?  Are they supposed to?**
A: Hi Bill--When I purchased this holder and screen(s), I was trying to decipher the different products, how they work, trying to figure out what would best suit my needs, etc.  I ended up later purchasing the Scotch Brite (SB) Multi Purpose pad holder (with long handle), and the Scotch Brite Quick Clean Heavy Duty Griddle Pads.   One day when I was cleaning my griddle (without the products)--OUCH!--I decided a longer handle would be handy.   I have tried the long handle holder and the griddle pads with the SB 701 Quick Clean liquid,but I have actually not tried--yet--the items in question.    That being said, the Scotch Brite items that I DID purchase and try worked GREAT!!   The Scotch Brite Quick Clean Heavy Duty Griddle Pads just affix to the long handle pad holder.   There's a You-Tube video that shows how these products work, and they do exactly what they claim to do.  My griddle was pretty brown....I had cleaned it after each use--hot water, scraping, wiping, etc., but these cleaner products remove the brown residue and restore the griddle to almost new!   Hope this helps

**Q: Does the cleaning pad leave noticable marks on the griddle even if using it with the grain? I don't want to marr/scratch my brand new griddle.**
A: The holder not touch the grill only the screen cleaner.  The both screens cleaner are heavy duty will leave cleaning mark, yes.

**Q: Can this be used on an outdoor gas griddle?**
A: Of course! I have the Blackstone gas griddle and it works with that no problem.

**Q: Can I safely used this on the stainless steel grates on my outdoor grill/barbeque?**
A: Only the soft metal not the hard flat one

Works like a charm. Remember to buy more pads. Have a strong grip.on the handle or it'll get stuck in a dirty part of the grill and your hand will move and fall on the grill and burn you.
