The more room I have, the heavier I pack. The padded straps and padded ventilated back made this a perfect fit. It is light enough with little preload but large enough for a small laptop and other stuff. There is luggage strap. The retention belts are important for me as don't like buffy bags. Side pockets are deep enough for most water bottles. Pocket design makes this bag quite versatile. Due the weight, there is not mach padding for laptop but it was designed in such way there is a gap for hanging small laptop so it will not touch the bottom. But I would put something there to the bottom. Just in case. Expecting a good durability from SwissGear.
