My last Oreck was purchased in 2002 and it lasted till 2013. I was expecting this one to do the same or at least last 6 or 7 years. First, was the smell, I noticed it gave off a stinky foot smell every time I vacuumed. Last year, 2024, the entire top handle broke off. I was able to fix it with duck tape. Then a few weeks ago, the little lever that holds the cord I place broke off. Now, it doesn’t pick up dirt anymore. It spits out the dirt it picks up. To say I am disappointed is an understatement. It didn’t have to last as long as the old Oreck but this is unacceptable for a $400 machine. I will not be purchasing another Oreck. Now I have to buy another vacuum in less than 4 years.
