A: No, it holds the chair together. The arm rests are not adjustable either and very uncomfortable hard plastic, as is the lumbar support: just a piece of hard plastic and incredibly uncomfortable. I hate this chair so much fyi, the foot rest doesn't stay up in place and slides down, leaving your feet dangling. It's a piece of garbage 100%.

Actual height doesn't even close to what its shown on description or pictures.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Comfortable chair, but not for all-day use.

This is a pretty comfortable chair overall. It rolls easily, has good cushioning and back support. My only negative is that it seems to have just a slight forward lean instead of sitting perfectly level. There's really no way to correct that either. I find myself having to scoot back in the seat every so often. Fortunately, this isn't a chair I have to use all day, every day, otherwise I probably would go for something more comfortable - and probably more expensive.
