This Toshiba 1. 6 Cu. Ft. 1250 watts microwave oven with its stainless Steel finish and timeless look can match different kitchen styles. Review: Excellent As Promised But Not Without A Quality Control Issue - My family started using Microwave ovens in the late 1970's they were enormous back then but they were powerful and did a good job. The first one I purchased for myself was a 1100 watt magic chef in the late 1980's it travelled with me for decades and worked great for something like 20 years and was still working when I gave it to a friend. Then in the 2000's I noticed a shift where it was not common to find 1100 watt microwaves and it has continued till this day where 1000 watts is where most top out. Anyway there have been other microwaves all pretty much disappointing in performance and as of recently I said that's it! I want a high performance microwave with a good interior size no more of these cramped 1.2 CF interiors and purchased this one as the exterior dimensions are not that much greater at 1.6 CF interior room. When I received this one I was at first amazed how light weight it is compared to the one it was replacing and realized it is the inverter technology lightening things up. It is so light weight in fact it will skid across the table opening and closing it. No problem I just put some drawer liners under the feet to keep it from sliding around. When I plugged it in for the first time it made a horrible noise I thought what the heck this is brand new where is this noise coming from?? at first I thought it was a bad gear in the turn table mechanism and tried to turn it with my fingers to feel if there was anything wrong with it but it was tight which it should be. After turning it on and off a few times I zeroed in on the sound and discovered it was a fan hitting something internally so being a technician I took the cowling off being very mindful not to touch any high energy components like capacitors or come in contact with wiring which could be potentially lethal. Note: It does require tamper proof Torx head screw drivers or a very good precision set of Torx drivers to remove the case screws to get into the appliance. Note: I do not recommend or endorse nor encourage that anyone should do as I have done but illustrate an issue with Quality Control on Toshibas part and the actions I took to correct it so others are aware when making this purchase they may encounter the same issue. Note: People who are unfamiliar with electricity, electronics or working with and around High Voltages weather it be DC or AC Circuits should not attempt to open one of these units as it can be lethal. Certain components like capacitor's will carry a lethal charge of electricity that can last for weeks even when unplugged and it can kill you. Note: I myself have been an electronics Technician in many professional work environments including appliance repair for decades and am still learning and always wary of touching anything I do not understand and even more cautious of touching things I do understand. I then discovered a metal duct work for channeling the air over components was not installed correctly (see picture included with this review) and I needed to bend it to get it out of the way of the fan blades, Two screws later and cautiously removing the shroud using insulated magnetic tools then a quick bend with a pair of needle nose plyers replaced the shroud and the problem was solved. After repairing this minor Issue, the Microwave works better than any I have ever used. Coffee & tea perfectly hot within 1 minute and I like mine HOT. Cook times are greatly reduced and the cooking is more even. Defrost by weight works perfectly, amazingly so. The feature to turn off the chimes is priceless no more stupid loud dinging when starting and finishing a cook cycle. When you turn off the noise however the kitchen timer also does not make noise. The microwave is also extremely quiet when running. All in all I am very pleased with this Microwave and hope what I experienced was just a one off, otherwise Toshiba had better get there Quality Control act together or there are going to be allot of returns for a very simple issue that should never have been permitted to leave the factory.
Review: UPDATE! - New: I have never experienced this from a company before....Toshiba sent us a new microwave! I did not contact them when our unit died. They must have read my review and took the initiative to replace the broken unit! I am thrilled to have a Toshiba again because I prefer this model to the replacement I purchased from another company. This is above and beyond service. Take this into consideration when choosing your new microwave! Old: We thought this microwave was great until it abruptly stopped working today. 10/24 - 6/26 is too short a lifetime. Conveniently out of warranty, but still feels like a recent purchase. Buy another brand.

**Q: How do you use the 3-legged metal stands?  Is micro-convection cooking done on the plate or the stand?**
A: For those interested in this query from over a year ago...I just watched a video on YouTube for this oven and they showed that you can cook a pizza or other items on parchment paper right on the rotating plate for the microwave and convection mode. The stand was not needed. You might check into YouTube there is a bunch of videos on this item I’m planning on buying it myself and I’ve just been going through them this morning

### ⭐ Would have rated this well for a day or two, now we cannot wait to get rid of this thing!

We bought this microwave to replace a microwave we had and used for over 20 years. This looked nice , is right size, we liked features, and good price. At first, this looked very good and I would have given it a good review. First issue is the user manual makes no sense whatsoever. We know how to use a microwave but the manual is clearly written by someone who ahs little to no command of English. It also mentions presets like "S1" but does not explain what they do and how to enter them, so problem #1 - Manual is useless. Problem #2 is far worse. We discovered that the control panel is very small and dim... no back light and almost no contrast. I had no problems with the old microwave but the control panel on this oven is nearly impossible to read even with a light on and reading glasses. Makes using the oven cumbersome and often having to stop it because wrong time controls are entered. Problem #3 is worst yet. We have only had the oven a few months and the control panel is deteriorating... the covering is puckering and blistering up and becoming even more unreadable. I know the return period is up so we cannot send this back, but we need to look into the warranty. One way or another this thing has to go... to Goodwill or the trash.. Update - I contacted Toshiba regards the 1 year warranty with the control panel bubbling up and blistering... After a week, have had no reply. Buyer Beware. I will never buy this brand again. This oven is only 4 months old and already needs to be replaced. Another Update - After no reply from Toshiba I contacted Amazon who called Toshiba. They requested documentation, serial number, photos, etc. Here is the update summary: Purchased this Toshiba Microwave Jan 5, 2022 ($170). Beyond return time but still under mfg warranty. The control panel is bubbling and cracking and getting less responsive to touch. Extremely hard to read. Have contacted the mfg regards the warranty and given them all the info requested (serial number, photos, etc). They promised to review the case and get back. Been over 6 weeks since I provided them with info and have not heard back. Emailed a few days ago asking for an update and have had no reply from them at all. Contacted Amazon again and Amazon has provided a solution not involving Toshhiba. The takeaway: This unit is inferior from the get go and the Toshiba warranty is useless.
