He was breaking free at night, and I would go in to find his blanket wrapped around his head! I was terrified and trying everything. This was one of the things I tried. I though perhaps the tightness and security with his arms free would be the first step to weaning him out of a swaddle......Worst purchase to date.There is a weird stiff velcro band that goes around the baby's tummy. It has no obvious function other than to create a tightness around baby's tummy for a "secure feeling." It just made my baby mad, he couldnt move, I felt horrible knowing that stiff band was rubbing on his tummy (even if a onsie is underneath).The material is stretchy enough so if he wanted to stretch his legs he could, but not while relaxed. He doesnt like his legs in the fetal position.I dont even want to give this to someone else to try because its that bad. The velcro is really rediculously stiff and its too short, the material doesnt seem to hold any warmth, it is always cold to the touch because of whatever material it is made of.Im assuming you cant try it and return it either, because it comes in a plastic bag that you have to rip open and pull off tags to try it.I was very unhappy with this and would never suggest this to anyone. Get a Halo Sleepsack Swaddle instead! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Gave me my life back! *by C***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on August 27, 2011* When my 6 month old son started breaking out of his Miracle Blanket, I figured I could transition him cold turkey. Boy was I wrong - and what followed was three miserable weeks of trying various sleep sacks, bags, one arm out, etc until I broke down and ordered this weaning swaddle. I figured it wouldn't help because my son seemed to stay awake by constantly whacking his face. But after the first night of wearing this, I noticed a difference. Turns out part of the reason he stayed awake was that he kept flailing his legs....and in this swaddle it kept them constrained (yet able to still stretch out). Because his legs weren't bothering him, his arms eventually started to relax as well. I have him sleep in this for all naps and night (as well as tied down in a Guardian Sleeper) and he is finally sleeping long stretches. Thank goodness because if this didn't work, I was going to have to invent a teenage sized swaddle! ### ⭐ Not for us *by M***B on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on December 31, 2011* We bought this swaddle after trying to transition our son from sleeping in a rock and play to sleeping flat in the crib. Unfortunately for us we found the velcro to be too stiff and restrictive (and not in a good way). At 16 pounds and 26 inches the large still seemed too short in length. The velcro hit him below his hips and I felt like it should hit him a bit higher. He couldn't extend his legs the way the baby in the image does. We ended up just dealing with transition the old fashioned way (putting him in the crib over and over and over again unswaddled for several weeks of sleepless nights). I have heard good things about the woombie.
