Review: Working great in my 3D printing application - Very pleased with this carbon - I reached out to Joe as he gave his phone number in a response to a question and sure enough he answered the phone and answered all my questions about activated carbon and it's use in 3D printing. They sell to large scale industrial customers for VOC filtering on 3D printing & laser cutters, so this is the right material for the job. The carbon I received seems very nice - pretty uniform granule size and very clean. No dust on my hands from handing it. I run it on top of a HEPA with a prefilter, and after a week of using it I pounded out the filter to see what came out. Very small amount of "dust", enough to where I'm really not concerned with it degrading flow. Actually, 20mm of this flows quite a bit better than the 10mm thick HEPA of the same surface area I have. Very pleased to have found a quality source! Review: perfect for air scrubbers - Great. I finally found some activated carbon of the right size! Usually it's too fine for most air cleaners, too fine because it's intended for use with water. The fine stuff just wouldn't pass enough air, too restrictive. I've been using it to renew old air cleaner units and it works just perfect. I will buy again! thank you ## Features - Premium Virgin Coconut Shell Activated Carbon - Manufactured from high-quality 4x8 virgin coconut shell activated carbon, this premium filtration media provides exceptional adsorption capacity, excellent airflow, and long-lasting performance for vapor-phase air filtration applications. - Designed for Air Purification & Odor Control - Helps adsorb odors, airborne contaminants, and many volatile organic compounds (VOCs), making it an excellent choice for air purification, deodorization, and vapor filtration systems in residential, commercial, and industrial environments. - Versatile for DIY & Professional Applications - Ideal for custom air filters, grow room ventilation, hydroponic systems, workshop air cleaners, garage odor control, RVs, boats, utility rooms, compost odor filtration, pet odor filters, and many other vapor-phase filtration projects. - Excellent Airflow & Low Dust Performance - The durable 4x8 mesh granular size provides an excellent balance of adsorption capacity and airflow while minimizing pressure drop and carbon fines during installation and operation. - Professional-Quality Filtration Media - Perfect for air scrubbers, carbon filter housings, odor control systems, manufacturing facilities, laboratories, hobby projects, and custom vapor filtration systems where dependable performance and consistent quality are essential. - Vapor Phase Granular Activated Carbon (GAC) ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00XIIILGQ | | Area Odor Remover Type | Area Deodorizer | | Best Sellers Rank | #656,314 in Home & Kitchen ( See Top 100 in Home & Kitchen ) #895 in Home Air Purifiers | | Brand | EnviroSupply | | Brand Name | EnviroSupply | | Color | Black | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 161 Reviews | | Item Form | Granule | | Manufacturer | EnviroSupply | | Model Number | coconut-shell-4x8-20lb | | Number of Items | 1 | | Package Size Name | Bulk | | Part Number | coconut-shell-4x8-20lb | | Power Source | passive diffusion | | Recommended Uses For Product | Indoor air purification, vapor phase applications, grow room air filters, pet smell removal | | Scent | Unscented | | Unit Count | 320 Ounce | ## Product Details - **Brand:** EnviroSupply - **Color:** Black - **Item Form:** Granule - **Scent:** Unscented - **Unit Count:** 320 Ounce ## Images ![4x8 Coconut Shell Activated Carbon | Air & Odor Filter GAC Media, 20 Pounds - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/41DX7Vy0QAL.jpg) ![4x8 Coconut Shell Activated Carbon | Air & Odor Filter GAC Media, 20 Pounds - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71fO328cFAL.jpg) ![4x8 Coconut Shell Activated Carbon | Air & Odor Filter GAC Media, 20 Pounds - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71MhcGs567L.jpg) ![4x8 Coconut Shell Activated Carbon | Air & Odor Filter GAC Media, 20 Pounds - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71HbXtDGsEL.jpg) ![4x8 Coconut Shell Activated Carbon | Air & Odor Filter GAC Media, 20 Pounds - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71k60t3y-HL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is this acid wash? Do you offer aw?** A: This is not acid washed. I can get you acid washed 4x8, please call me to discuss. Thank you. -Joseph H 949-732-3318 **Q: Where is this product produced?** A: The product is produced in Indonesia. **Q: What are the uses for this product?** A: I'm not certain of what other people use this product for, but I highly recommend it for use as the sacrificial media used in a carbon ash catcher in conjunction with a water pipe. The carbon granules do an excellent job helping to keep your water pipe cleaner by reducing the amount of ash and tar that enter the water pipe itself. The 4x8 particle size is a good size for any of the carbon ash catchers I have seen available. I hope this helps someone. Cheers!! **Q: What is the size of the 4x8 charcoal in millimetres?** A: 4 = 4.76mm 8 = 2.38mm Let us know if you have any additional questions. Thank you! -Joe H. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Working great in my 3D printing application *by J***N on February 23, 2023* Very pleased with this carbon - I reached out to Joe as he gave his phone number in a response to a question and sure enough he answered the phone and answered all my questions about activated carbon and it's use in 3D printing. I will buy again! thank you ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice looking carbon...Buyers beware. *by J***E on February 19, 2021* Product arrived a day early as usual. This carbon looks to be of good quality. The size of the granules are slightly larger than the carbon being replaced in a 6"×18 " filter but consistent in size with a low dust content. I was able to fill the one small filter loosely the volume it holds is approximately 1565 cubic centimetres. Advertised as 5.5 lb. It is only labeled as 5 lb on the package. 5.5 lbs would have filled the filter canister better as I had to leave it loosely packed. Good to see the NSF label on the sturdy packaging, I hope it is actually a certified material. I run a filter 24-7 to scrub pollutants in my living and sleeping areas. Once I started the 400 CFM fan One could smell the odor of burned plant material. This tells me the carbon has not been processed correctly 400-600 C and no catalist added. I personally can not recommend this supposedly "activated carbon" and believe to be not NSF certified. After weeks of use the product seems to be holding its own nicely... ## Frequently Bought Together - EnviroSupply Premium 4x8 Virgin Coconut Shell Activated Carbon Charcoal (for Air Purification and Vapor Phase Applications) - Bulk 20 lb.
