Newest update. The long term results are good, It continues to function with over 1000 hours of use. NOTED: People asked about the proper voltage to drive the 100 watt cob. The correct voltage in the specification are between 32 and 34 volts of regulated power. I run the cob at 28 volts at a regulated forward current. I prefer to under volt the chip. It will increase the live span of the cob and lower the operating temperatures dramatically. The failed chip was the one that came in the light and was in operation for a year. It started flickering and flashing after 30 seconds of operation. I replaced it with the new chip from Hontley. It worked great but failed again. I tried again using thermal transfer paste the second time and its still working great .
