I am a 30 year hobbiest woodworker and 10 year wood turner. I was terrible at my dust control in the past and have now have a lung condition called sarcoidosis that may be attributed to that. I had used a Trend filter helmet and it was not very good, too much gets through even with new filter, trust me my lungs let me know. The Trend helmet is fine for chunks. Because I love woodworking/turning so much, I shelled out the money for this setup, that or give up my passion. This unit is simply great. The battery lasts all day (recharge while at lunch), you forget the helmet is on after a few minutes. I wear reading glasses and no issues. I wear earbuds too and no issue getting at these. The belt is comfortable but it does tend to slide down and I could see suspenders being nice. I was doing some large contact cement use and the fumes could not be detected at all. Given that it stops these fumes, it clearly stops all dust, even the finest from my lathe sanding. I feel that giving this a week of usage has been a fair assessment. Just do it.
