I hadn't owned a pair in like 20 years, so I don't remember how I used to size them. Looking back, I think I just bought my regular waist and one size up in length, but I'm not sure. Anyway, the first pair I ordered (Rigid, STF) were sized up one inch in the waist and two in the length. I wear a 33x29, but usually buy 33x30 since 29L is pretty hard to find. I ordered the first pair in a 34x32, sizing up one in the waist and two in the length. I hot soaked them and they barely shrank at all, so I tossed them in the dryer. Still barely noticeable. So I hot soaked them again and put them in the dryer. Still not a good fit at all, and there's a weird bump over my tailbone. They're wearable, but just barely because they are still too big and I look like I'm hiding a tail stub over my butt. Now, on to this pair (burgundy): I just bought these in my usual size (32x30), wore them in a hot bath for 30 minutes, got out and let them drip dry on me, then hung them on a pinch hanger until they were almost dry but still damp. I put them on and wore them until they were totally dry, taking care to avoid bending over or bending my knees or anything. I just stood in my living room and watched the Super Bowl until they were 1005 dry. That was absolutely successful! These are the best-fitting pair that I own now, and I just ordered a pair of the black STFs that arrive tomorrow. I'm hoping that I can get the same result with this next pair; if so, I'll probably order another pair of the blue Rigids and donate the first pair to Goodwill or whatever.
