Every game I have now runs at 60+ fps. What a difference! I never knew it, but I was running under 30 fps on many games. My battery backup says the power load is the same as before. It could be that it takes the same amount of power as the Ryzen GPU, which is no longer used. It might draw slightly more at max load, but in any case you're looking at roughly the same power consumption as with Vega 11 integrated graphics. It's beautiful. BUT, my Dell has a LOW wattage power supply, and it is difficult to upgrade the power supply. So I needed a graphics processor card that did NOT need additional power beyond the PCIe buss power. This card solved the problem. It was worrying because ALL the descriptions on the MSI and various other sites lead me to believe that this card needed the additional power. When it arrived, it did NOT have the additional power connector. It would run just with just the buss power. I bought the GDRR6 card, but as it turned out, for MY purposes of photo editing (individual pictures), NOT gaming (continuous video), I probably could have used the cheaper GDRR5 card and saved some money, and not noticed any performance difference.
