The materials are solid wood and it's well made.But I ran into problems. First unlike the plastic arrangement I have now with a catch basin underneath to compensate for sloppy drinking habits, this system has none. So... unless your dogs have better manners than mine, you'll need to put something underneath or risk your floor (mine is wood) being soaked.But the bigger problem for me is that once I had my 2 dogs eat together, I immediately had fights about food. My younger 2 year old male Samoyed would eat his meal very quickly and then try to take food away from my 4 year old female Samoyed who takes her time eating.
