Siekiamybė" buvo pastatytas 1764 ųjų vasarą, tikruoju vardu Earl Pembroke. 368 tonų, 106 metrų ilgio, 97 pėdų kyliu ir maksimaliai stabilia 29 pėdų pločio grimzle. Šiam jūrų milžinui judėjimo greitį garantavo burės: trikampės ir įprastinės kvadratinės, nors pradžioje jis buvo pastatytas kaip kūrenama anglim varomas laivas. Vėliau laivą perėmė karališkasis jūrų laivynas, jam suteiktas vardas Siekiamybė" ir naudotas ekspedicijoms vykdyti. Įrengimo darbai vyko Deptfordo laivų statykloje, netoli Londono. Ten jis buvo parengtas pirmai kelionei su atnaujintais deniais, kabinomis ir vietomis pareigūnams, mokslininkams, tarnautojams, jūrų pėstininkams ir įgūlai, viso devyniasdešimt keturiems vyrams. Siekiamybė" išplaukė į kelionę aplink pasaulį 1768 rugpjūčio 8 ąją komanduojamas kapitono Džeimso Kuko ir sugrįžo į Londoną 1771 metų Liepos 13 ąją. Kelionės tikslas buvo stebėti Veneros judėjimą tarp Saulės ir Žemės, taip pat apskaičiuoti atstumą tarp žvaigždžių ir panaudoti informaciją skaičiuojant visatos mastą. Review: Boat kit - Looks wonderful arrived early, excellent service
Review: This is NOT a toy, and tge kit is NOT complete. - I purchased this for my husband for Christmas and while he is enjoying the build he is getting increasingly frustrated to discover he is running out of parts. Plus the instructions are for a previous version and so incorrect and he keeps on having to rework for the current kit. Someone without experience, or knowledge of the Endeavour, would struggle with them. He has had to buy eyelets - currently on his second 60 pieces packet. planking strips - the kit is short about 10, but to buy to match he could only buy a pack of 30 4mm dowel - 1 short but again he has had to buy a bigger pack, this time of 10 He has just started the rigging and he has already started to try and find a match for the thread, after having done the rat line for the foremast. This kit while good and the build is very promising, is expensive to then not have even the items needed for it never mind not having some spare for those mishaps (not counted them in the above). This kit is only for the experienced model maker who knows what they are doing with capabilities to adapt and a willingness to have to purchase more items, which you would presume where already in the kit. Update:- He still hasn't quite finished it, on the rigging and has just had a rant about more pieces missing. We have contacting the manufacturers who acknowledged the email but never responded to it. Before purchasing these next bits he decided to add up the cost of the missing bits currently just shy of £48! But having got this far he is determined to finish it but will never buy from OcCre again.
