I range out to 1000 yards. Excellent scope. Are you minimal distortion of the edges at high magnification. Well put together. **Q: Does anyone recommend a certain tripod for this item.** A: Tripod being an absolute must for a spotter to be usable at all! Cant be overstated as I learned this the hard way trying a cheap tripod that couldn't hold it steady enough to use without extreme frustration! Buy once cry once if your not seriously researching and purchasing a decent product in tripod land you WILL BE FRUSTRATED AND REPURCHASING so do some work ask a professional camera store or straight to the $200 vortex pods!
