A modern replacement for traditional DIN 571 coach screws, it benefits from an aggressive slash point tip for easy driving and reduced splitting, an external hex flanged head and partially-threaded shank gives excellent clamping strength. They come supplied with a 10mm socket suitable for on impact screwdriver. Hanging off the brackets I can say the bolts are very strong, easy to use and grip brilliantly in the wood. Terrific screw bolts at a great price.

A: You will need an M12x60mm nylon plug with an M8 x25mm washer for masonry work

**Q: I want to screw these M8 120mm screws into a 4” stair rail without it splitting. Should I drill a pilot hole?**
A: I would drill a pilot hole if I were doing what you're doing, because they are not really designed for super accurate work, more for rough fixings. They are excellent though for securely fixing rough timber.
