It is not rated as a medical device but I can see it could stop some small volumes of splashy liquids from hitting my eyes, nose, mouth and face. I believe it would be too thin to qualify as a safety goggle such as used in construction; I would use something else if my job required a professional rating and supplies were available. I would have given it five stars for what it is. However, when I bought it the title talked about a hat, the description called it dust proof and the image showed someone wearing a hat and face mask in addition to the clear face shield. I’m giving it four stars since neither any hats nor masks were in the package when it arrived. I consider this a fairly minor issue in light of the price and the fact that for me, the shield should do fine for my intended purpose...light duty protection...with an adequate face mask...maybe backed up by another pair of glasses...when shopping if worse comes to worse with Covid-19. When I received this order (ordered in May, received it rather quickly a few days later) it came with 10 fully assembled face shields (no hats). It also came individually bagged, which is a bonus.Please don't forget to PEEL the CLINGY FILM from BOTH SIDES of this face shield. I removed the inside and wore it not knowing to peel the outside (which is harder to see and to peel off). Once I realized I needed to also peel the outside off as well, the shield became even more clearer.Wearable and functionable.Please WEAR face MASKS along with these shields. The masks protect your nose and mouth; these face shields protect your eyes. The COVID-19 virus is said to be airborne, so the eyes are vulnerable also.They are good for sharing; shared with family and neighbors and they all appreciated it.UPDATED FOR CLARITY:If these shields continue to be individually bagged (as mine were), they are good for sharing (while in their own bag). The directions such as they are do not mention this and It is NOT obvious, especially on the front, and this is why some people are giving this 1 star because of visibility. One you get the film off both sides, it is crystal clear. I wear it when seeing clients or when I need to be face to face without being able to maintain social distancing.One other thing: I wear a men's extra large hat, and I found the band a little tight. I bought "mitten clips" on Amazon that you would use to attach a mitten to a toddler's jacket to keep them from getting lost - they have a metal clip on both ends of a short piece of elastic.
