Even better if the holes are slightly smaller enough you gotta tap them in. The plastic piece however offers protection for the 1000+watts you going to be pushing through. After all said and done i can say that the the bolts was being protected from anything accidendtly coming in contact with no bolt petruding out at all. So choice is yours... **Q: What size cutout will this fit?** A: 2.75" **Q: The diameter of my current round terminals is 2½", will this fit?** A: Its bigger than 2.5inches if I remember right. You could get it and take it to Home Depot and get the correct hole saw size. Have to be accurate with this one. Awesome product though. **Q: bolt length?** A: 1 1/4 which was really short for my application.
