## Description

ASRock Z170M PRO4S LGA1151/ Intel Z170/ DDR4/ Quad CrossFireX/ SATA3&USB3.0/ M.2/ A&GbE/ Micro ATX Motherboard (New Item!)

Review: Great mATX board - All good here. It is a modern board with most features you could need in a mATX board. Four mem slots, plenty usb3, speedy m2 port and great for overclocking. The bios and drivers work flawless. I would have liked display port and built in wifi but for the price this is great board especially if you want to play with overclocking. But for the latter you need a gfx card in one of the pcie slots which I'd believe an overclocking enthusiast would already have.
Review: Great, future proof Skylake mobo - I bought this board for a mid range 1080p gaming PC for its high end Z170 Intel chipset, support for Intel Skylake (Gen 6) processors, and DDR4-2666MHz RAM support—it also supports SLI in case you'd want to double your graphics cards. I paired this board with an Intel i3-6100 and EVGA Nvidia GTX 970 to get over 60fps on Ultra 1080p on every game I've thrown at it so far on this budget build.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great, future proof Skylake mobo

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good Board
*by J***S on April 4, 2016*

Good board. I needed the Intel 170 Chipset in conjunction with Skylake I5-6400 to leverage the Samsung 950 Pro M2 SSD ( which requires the o-board PCIe SSD PCIe Gen3 x4 M.2 Connector with up to 32Gb/s Data Transfer). I'm running WIN 7 Pro. Getting a setup USB drive bootable with the SSD NVMe drivers was the main challenge after that things were smooth sailing. The board works well and even benchmarked marginally faster than the Gigabyte (GA-H170M-D3H) that I eventually adopted. I abandoned the ASRock only because the Gigabyte offered a needed additional USB3 header and a VGA port (in addition to DVI.) A note on the WIN7 configuration built with screaming fast Samsung 950 Pro in the even faster M2 PCIe slot: This disk offered little performance improvement under regular use. The boot time was a bit slower than with the 850 SATA III SSD and I attribute that to the faster NVMe drivers not loading until AFTER windows loads. Once Windows started the benchamark software (Passmark & ATTO) showed every screaming ounce of power. The ATTO core was better than spec (R/W 2.5/1.5 GB/s) The Passmark score was off the chart (18,000 Disk mark) compared to the other system components. This disparity explains why the overall system only performed marginally better than the same system with the 850 Pro: The 950 Pros is ahead of its time for consumer grade equipment like this board. This board (and the ASRock above) just about max-out with the software that I use (Photoshop, goldwave, firefox, etc.) and which I also used for benchmarking; the 950 Pro did not improve performance markedly. This is not expert analysis, obviously, and I welcome polite comments on how to get better utilization from the 950 Pro.
