Went into their Website and there it says specifically for this Deer pot: Volume is measured to the top but you should never fill it to the top. It is made of thick copper with welded metal tube and long wooden handle. Coated inside with tin and nickel finished on the outside. It is not dishwasher safe. Never use metal brushes or steel wool on the inside or outside. This are the recommendations for all their pots. I just rinse it well with hot water. Hope this helps. This is a simple glitch to fix at the site; wake someone up. I had to buy it to find out. IT IS A 500 ml POT. 220 ml (aprx 7 oz.) will fill the bottom portion below the hammered design if you just want to make 2 good demi-tasse cups of coffee minus the solids. You can make a decent small coffee as well as a larger amount to share so don't listen to much of the chatter from the "experts" online regarding appropriate size to buy. Well made, nice design, worth the extra dollars for a very solid ibrik.
