## Description

Product description Professional-Grade Fertilizer PGF (Professional Grade Fertilizer) Complete 16-4-8 takes all the research, top products, and necessary nutrients, and combines them into one bag. Unless a soil test shows that you need a nutrient adjustment, most experts and studies say the same thing: apply a 4-1-2 ratio fertilizer for the best results as a regular maintenance application. PGF Complete 16-4-8 is formulated with that 4-1-2 ratio (16-4-8) and is also high in iron and other micronutrients. The results are fast, and you can expect a rich, green lawn in 6-14 days with proper irrigation or rainfall. In addition to the quick green-up PGF Complete 16-4-8 provides, the product is formulated with a large amount of slow-release nitrogen, which allows for continual feeding for up to 8 weeks. PGF Complete 16-4-8 also contains Humic DG. Humic acid is an organic, carbon-based compound that helps enrich your soil and allows plants to better process nutrients. All Turf Types, All Season PGF Complete 16-4-8 is safe for use on all turf types and can be used any time during the growing season. 8 Weeks of Nutrition With quick- and slow-release nitrogen, PGF Complete 16-4-8 provides turf with nutrition for up to 8 weeks. Reapply every 6 to 8 weeks for best results. Patented Technology PGF Complete 16-4-8 is made with Andersons patented DG Technology which allows nutrients to reach the root zone more quickly. Double the Coverage PGF Complete 16-4-8 has an extremely small particle size for a more even distribution of nutrients and double the coverage. Applying PGF Complete 16-4-8 For best results Mow before applying Apply to dry foliage Water in after application with a minimum of 0.2 inches Do not collect clippings for at least one mowing following application to avoid particle pick-up. For summer applications on cool-season grasses, apply at 50-75% of the normal rate. When applying on centipede lawns, apply at 50% of the normal rate. PGF Complete can be applied every 6 to 8 weeks during the growing season.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can i safely add this to my normal lawn care treatments? in other words, if i'm putting weed and feed down in may, can i also add this as well?**
A: Two partial answers....the real answer is maybe. Each turf type requires a certain amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, which are the 16-4-8, meaning if you had a 100 pound bag of this fertilizer, 16 pounds would be nitrogen, 4 pounds would be phosphorus, and 8 pounds would be potassium. Different turfs require different amounts of these nutrients each year. For example, my Zoysia requires 2-3 pounds of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. per year, and the other 4/8 in the bag would be good ranges as well for my turf type. Yours may be different. You want to spread the lawn feedings across the growing season, and not feed the lawn when it is about to go dormant, which is when the weather turns cooler for warm season grasses, and when the weather is getting hottest for cool season grasses. Some people feed their lawns twice a year, some 3-4-5 times a year or more, depending on how evenly you want to spread the nutrients through the growing season. However many times you plan on putting down fertilizer each year, figure out how much you need each year based on your turf type (Google "Lawn Care Academy" and look up your grass type) and divide that by how many times you plan to feed. If the Weed-N-Feed plus this is in the general correct range for that feeding, you can apply both. Generally I apply fertilizer throughout the year and put down some Ironite a few times to deepen the green in my lawn, and some Milorganite (some nitrogen and a lot of organic matter for the soil bacteria to feed on), and with a pre-emergent program (Prodiamine or similar product), that will keep most weeds away. 2, 4D and Quinclorac will take care of most weeds and crabgrass. There is a spectracide product that contains those along with Dicamba and Sulfentrazone. if these are safe on your turf type, I'd use that as a follow up to spot treat remaining weeds. Once the bulk of the weeds are managed, which will be 95% of them, I use an envelope moistener with a sponge and put glyphosate in it with some surfactant and apply directly to any remaining weeds to kill them. Stick with a proper pre-emergent program and that will keep 99% of the future weeds from popping up.

**Q: Is this product organic or natural ? would the product burn the lawn grass if putting too much? Thanks!**
A: No it’s not organic and even though you can put to much at one time on your lawn, it doesn’t burn as fast as your traditional fertilizer. This product is really mild however it’s always recommended to put it down at the recommended rate.

**Q: 4.5 setting on my Scott's edgeguard for the 18 pound bag only got me coverage of barely 3,000 square feet. I don't see how that would treat 5k sq ft?**
A: Lower your spreader setting or walk faster. Either will thin out the application a bit for a broader coverage. I'm rather OCD and I use a lower setting and do a pass in one direction with half the bag, then put the other half in and go across the lawn at a 90 degree angle for a more even distribution. Also, I recommend buying the larger bag as it is cheaper per pound, then just roll up the top and tape it and stick it in the garage or shed for the next application. I first used this in 2020, and the larger bags were not available, which means I need to probably go ahead and start looking for some now. Look at big box stores over the winter when they are trying to clear shelf space for the holidays and you can find lawn care stuff frequently at reduced rates.

This left darker green stripes on my lawn which wasn't the fault of the product, but my lawn was deficient in iron. If you have this happen, adding more iron should help even out the color. Ironite is one popular choice. There are also spray on liquid iron applications if you need a quick fix for a lawn party or something.

**Q: Can I put down lime at the same time or when should I do it?**
A: Best to put down lime in the fall. I wouldn’t put both down at the same time because you may have some burning if you do it now.
