At home before the show, I used Jan Tana as the base. Since I was flying to the event and TSA limits what you can bring in your carry-on, I brought the Pro Tan 2 ounce to the show. I used it more as a touch up and it was applied for the Pre-judging in the morning and the evening show. It stayed on all day with a little additional where it rubbed off on the clothing during the day. **Q: I'm looking for a brown gel not an orange or golden color. Is this product brown?** A: Yes, a deep brown base. It has a very pleasant smell also. **Q: How does it differ from pro tan in the bottle should I get both or either or will work ?** A: Actually I found the Pro Tan gel to be superior to the bottle version. It appears to be thicker. The gel is a dark rich brown color and is easy and less messy to apply. It travels well and is less likely to spill.
