As far as distortion goes, it depends on the antenna, atmospheric conditions, solar activity, broadcast signal strength and how kind the radio gods feeling from one day to the next. **Q: Hello - The tuning knob on the receiver is very tight to turn. Unlike the the other 2 knobs, it is about 5 times tighter to rotate. Is that normals?** A: no **Q: Does every shortwave radio play world radio stations? some products here list sw and world radio as features, but some only list sw (along with am/fm)** A: "World radio" is just a way for marketing people to describe shortwave radio to consumers who might not understand what Shortwave radio is for. World radio = SW. **Q: Its a year old ,now it only works when i use ac. The batteries are charged but when i turn radio on it says batteries dead , they are charged. why?** A: Replace the batteries with a better quality NMh batteries something like 1800-2200 mah. I had to replace the original Tecsun rechargeable batteries as they were just pure junk and I can not charge them without any problem. Also, do not overcharge the batteries.
