In specific, it is a bad idea to try to use a sewing machine to sew Velcro made for gluing on to anything because the glue from the back of the Velcro begins to accumulate on the machine needle and on the thread as it passes through the sticky layer.. Then, things sort-of come to a stand still. As a last resort, one can hand or manually sew the sticky Velcro to fabric but one has the same problem with accumulating glue on the needle and thread. The rolls are both incredibly wide, and very strong. I haven't even needed to use them at their full width, instead cutting them down to smaller pieces for smaller gear. It also helps unstick them, because even at a portion of their full size the Velcro has a strong grip. I did mess up placement at first with some of the pieces I stuck on a case of mine, and I was relieved to learn that pulling the adhesive side off of the case didn't leave any sticky residue. It wasn't on there for very long, but I had made sure it was fully stuck a moment before, and it's nice to know your equipment won't get messy if you need to move a piece around. Though I can't be sure if it was left longer, or in heat. All in all, I'm really glad I got this product so far.
