Review: A cost-effective, no-frills rice cooker - Since this rice cooker is not a pressure cooker, you need to add enough water when cooking rice. With a pressure cooker, even with a little less water, there's less moisture loss and the high pressure cooks the rice well, but if you do that with this rice cooker, the rice dries out and doesn't turn out right. Also, it takes longer to cook than a pressure cooker. A quick cook mode on a pressure cooker takes 18 minutes, but this one takes 29 to 30 minutes. It has all the essential functions and is sturdy, so for this price range, I think it's a great rice cooker.

He was always doing videos and showing how to just throw things into this and turn it on and wahhhlaaaah! A meal! Genius! It’s not just a rice cooker. Ad either water or broth, all the veggies I want and meat of choice and some soy sauce and it’s done in about 30-40 min! I set it on the regular rice setting. I also made a delicious chocolate cake in it! Mad the mix, greased the inside with pm, poured in batter and turned it on steam for I think 50 min? It was delicious!!! It was an experiment but it worked! So I use this farrrr more than just a little rice cooker, I use it multiple times a week and keep in on the counter. It’s a little big but it’s not ugly so I don’t mind. To me it was worth the money. Makes great rice but even better quick and easy full meals!

**Q: Are you able to push the front button to open the cooker without the unit sliding back and/or rocking after the lid opens? Thanks!**
A: Correct! The unit stays in place when you push the opening button to open the lid. The bottom base half of the unit stays down onto the counter even without rice or anything in it. Be aware though, when pushing the button the lid flings open, so if cabinets hang over low, the lid will hit whatever is within the lid’s radius. It does not open slow.

A: Yes there is a detachable inner lid.

A: Depends on how much rice you’re cooking up about 45-60mins

Since this rice cooker is not a pressure cooker, you need to add enough water when cooking rice. I ABSOLUTELY love this rice cooker! I’ve been wanting a Cuckoo rice cooker for forever but most are so expensive that I held out. My husband and I have always used Zojirushi rice cookers but they don’t make them like the old days. We have gone through a couple and they did not keep rice warm for long. In less than a day the rice turned bad and smelled. We were throwing out so much rice- what a waste of food! I was so disappointed. I saw this one while browsing on prime day and loved the price. I also loved the reviews that said the rice was kept warm for more than a day. I was sold. I thought “Why not? If it doesn’t work I can return it.” Best rice cooker I have bought by far! The rice stays warm for a long time and I am no longer throwing out any spoiled rice. The white design is so pretty on my kitchen counter and I love the touch buttons. My husband laughed at me hugging my rice cooker, because I love it so much. ❤️ Fast forward to October 2025- my rice cooker is still going strong and it’s still the best rice cooker I have ever bought. Period. UPDATE: It is now March 2026 and my rice cooker is still going strong and still keeping rice warm for a long time.
