The entire kit including the ring light is plastic. Easy to assemble (no directions) It's multiple brightness levels, I believe it is supposed to have 10, is weak and should have been just 5 strong variants instead of these hardly noticeable 10 variations. I find it a struggle to put my iPhone 8 into it's adjustable holder, and it completely feels like it's going to topple not to mention you need to be gentle putting it into it's movable position, once the phone was in, it did try to droop out of place, so be patient. I was hoping it would be taller (it's the height it says it is) but could be taller. If you are shooting a standing interview, it's kind of pointless, but it is taller than most others out there. It needs a longer plug and it would have been nice to have a battery alternative for outside or travel. Has lots of movement on the swivels and I appreciate that it will go 90 degrees to shoot table top. But, with all that said, its not badly made for an affordable ring light. Totally worked, almost too good as it reveals every facial secret you are trying to hide. But it really works when it comes to doing film and photography, anything that needs a central light and diminish shadows. I haven't experimented with depth though, assuming it's mainly for close ups or about 3 feet. My only complaint is that there are quite a few pieces to put together and there are no instructions. Seemingly there are different parts that attach to do different things, but I really don't know. I bought it because I now work from home and I'm on a lot of video calls, and my office has a lot of windows causing a lot of backlight and people couldn't see me clearly. This has fixed the problem.
