There are plenty of pockets and compartments to store your phone or smaller objects. I didn't read the description close enough to realize the bag is mesh, and therefore wont protect the contents from getting wet or sandy. I bought this bag to take into a stadium and realized my things would not be protected from spilled beer or peanut shells if it was sitting on the ground. Thats my mistake and this is still a great bag.
