The batteries fit snugly but not too tightly, which is a welcome improvement from a different brand of 3-bay charger in which they were loose and had to be wiggled to make good enough contact to start charging and would stop charging at the slightest disturbance, or none at all. The short built-in cable with an old-school USB-A plug is as shown; I had hoped that other reviewers who mentioned a USB-C connector might be indicating that there is a newer model, but if there is, I did not get one.
