I was wondering if this product is durable enough?** A: I would say no I ended up getting screens that were made of pets and just doubled the screen in the window, didn't seem to block airflow to much and you can't really see in during the day, night time its the opposite you can see in as the light changes but I find that to be the case with almost any privacy DIY things I've tried ...good luck **Q: Ive never installed something lole this before, is it difficult to do your first time?** A: It's very easy to install. Get the roller tool. It makes things much easier. **Q: I'm looking for a material to make a stroller shade. Is this very flexible or does it drape? Or is it stiff like regular screening?** A: it is a little flexible, and would drape. it's not rigid, but made of some kind of plastic I guess. it's strong and durable and works great as a screen against sun and bugs. I guess it's similar to a heavy duty drop cloth. **Q: How effective is the solar shade vs using an awning?** A: I realize this question is 2 yrs old. BUT! I purchased this solar screening after realizing awnings were cost prohibitive. What I did was cut screen to fit outside window frame. I then affixed heavy duty 3M velcro (after cleaning screen and frame surface w/ rubbing alcohol) pieces to corners of frame and screen. I did this to windows on East and West side of home. It has made a big difference with those rooms NOT heating up from glass heat retention. In total it cost me maybe 75.00 vs 200.00 per window for awnings. In the fall I take them down to regain the sun warming those rooms in cooler weather. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Successful, inexpensive solution to a long term problem ... *by M***J on July 16, 2015* The New York Wire 36102 Charcoal Solar 85 Screening, 36-Inch by 84-Inch is a perfect solution for our south facing door that causes our kitchen to bake and broil depending on the temperature and season. Due to the heat that streams in through our glass storm door, we would usually have to close our wooden door, totally blocking out the lovely breezes that so often drift across our front yard and into the kitchen. This screen blocks out the heat and the blazing sunshine while allowing the breeze to flow in.I purchased sticky black velcro tape and stuck the tiny plastic hook tape to the top of the storm door, just under the "arm hardware unit". I stuck the fuzzy tape to the top of the screen and then used a zig zag stitch on my Singer to reinforce the bond to the screen, which took less than a minute. The screen adheres perfectly to the tape on the door. I rolled up the extra screen at the bottom of the door and fastened it in a tiny roll with large paper clips. This gives a rigid edge and weights the screen down but still allows the screen to float enough to permit air to flow in.I can still see everything out side and I no longer have to worry about the paint on our antique wooden door heating up and cracking.
