It only takes a very small amount, especially if you have short hair. That said, it does leave a sort of sticky feel to your hair. The hold is epic. You can go to bed and get up the next day with your hair still in place. I tend to use this when I need to look presentable, but less diligent about using it for general staying at home and no one is going to see my hair days.
