SHARPENING is when you remove metal to create a cutting edge. HONING is when you move the steel to make the cutting edge sharper. I have been hand sharpening knives for a decade so I really do know what I’m talking about here. This blade is made completely of 440 stainless steel. This is good and bad. The good is it doesn’t rust and is hard enough you won’t have to worry about it breaking. The down side is most stainless steel has less than 0.5% carbon. Low carbon blades means they go dull after each use. Will this knife get sharp? Yes. Will it stay sharp? Absolutely not. You will have to hone it after every use and resharpen it fairly regularly. **Q: Can it be concealed in Public without breaking laws? It looks small enough.** A: Look up your state laws. In California this would be illegal because it doesn't fold. **Q: Is it really sharp** A: Yes, invest in another chain. The chain is cheap **Q: Can the grip be detached** A: No. It is a single, solid piece of steel ## Frequently Bought Together - MTech USA – Fixed Blade Knife – Neck Knife – Green Camo Coated Blade and Handle, Full Tang, Nylon Fiber Sheath w/ Pocket Clip/ Chain - Hunting, Camping, Survival, Tactical, EDC – MT-588DG - MASTER USA – Knife - MTech USA – Fixed Neck Knife - Black Blade and Handle, Full Tang, Includes Nylon Fiber Sheath w/ Pocket Clip and Ball Chain - Hunting, Camping, Survival, Tactical, EDC – MT-588BK --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.gr/products/1765844-mtech-usa-fixed-blade-knife-full-tang-nylon-fiber-sheath](https://www.desertcart.gr/products/1765844-mtech-usa-fixed-blade-knife-full-tang-nylon-fiber-sheath) --- *Product available on Desertcart Greece* *Store origin: GR* *Last updated: 2026-11-02*
