The screw on/off connector of the Dewalt is awesome and will last longer. But for the airbags on the back of my truck screwing it off would drop the PSI a few and I was getting tired of that. I used the closed flow AstroAl chuck and I’m happy with that. With the chuck not on a valve stem, if I turn the compressor on it’ll build to the set PSI fast and stop. Holds are tight, no leaks with the gas line tape used. So after filling my tires and airbags I clip it right off. Perfect. Only down side is I then press the chuck stem against the screw of my rock tamer mud flaps to release the air from the Dewalt air compressor Line (otherwise the line still has pressure and is stiff). But it keeps everything right at the level I set it to be. All parts are perfect fits and hold great. A buddy and I put Firestone ride right airbags on his truck a few days ago, and he loved my Dewalt air compressor (he has tons of dewalt 20v stuff already and got me turned to Dewalt). Open flow for hand held tire inflators or small 12v pumps. Allows the air to flow both directions, aka if your inflator has a pressure gauge and manual valve to let the air out of the hose. Closed flow is for direct connect to a compressor where you want the air to stop when you disconnect it, as in a shop or gas station. Both open the valve step to allow the air to flow. **Q: will this work on presta valves?** A: no from what i read you would need an adepter **Q: Im filling air tanks. Will i have to hold lever down or will it lock in open position?** A: If you are filling via a Schrader valve you will have to lock it on the valve otherwise it will not fit on the valve. Once on the valve you do not have to hold it down.. It least that has been my experience. I have been pleased with how these work. I bought mine to use on a Jaco inflator tool after the Jaco chuck failed. Not sure how it would hold up under commercial use. I use mine around the shop maintaining lawn equipment and personal vehicle tires for the last year **Q: I am making a harness to deflate/inflate all 4 tires simultaneously. When I connect the first one to a valve stem, are the other 3 closed, or leak?** A: They should only flow (to deflate/inflate) when they are engaged to a valve. If you scroll down on the photos, they actually have one that describes open vs closed. My first purchase I didn't pay enough attention and order "open" ones and they leaked thru.
