Recommendations?** A: You can use a dimmer to slow the motor so yes a 12v DC variable controller should work **Q: I received this and the fan blade is broken. How can we correct this?** A: Use your old fan blade or return the whole thing **Q: How many rpm?** A: in the range around 650 **Q: Is this a brushless motor?** A: Probably not! DC, low cost, etc. If you want a fancier fan, I suggest you upgrade to a big variable speed one. I changed out the fan in the bathroom so it wouldn't squeak any more and I installed a maxxair fan in the front of the RV. Both seem to be successful replacements. One of the issues with this kind of fan is that it is close to the screen in the vent. On installation, check carefully that the fan blade is fully pushed onto the shaft and the screen is flat or down, not up, as they get stretched out a little over the years. Given how little we use the fans, I thought one large one was plenty of air flow for our 26' class C RV. The large fan is also reversible, although normally the fan is being used when it is hotter outside, and so it is better to draw air in from a shaded side of the RV and exhaust it through the vent. I have difficulty imagining why it would be a good idea to have a reversible fan in the bathroom. This fan functions more like a typical household bathroom fan, although since it does not cover the entire vent area, air could also enter from the sides of the vent while exiting through the fan, but this would likely only happen if the rest of the RV was tightly sealed and there was no gap under or over the bathroom door. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good price and quality *by on Reviewed in the United States September 29, 2026* It fit my camper roof vents. The bathroom vent fan stopped working and this replacement part wasn't exactly like the original but works perfectly. The wires are a tiny bit different but hook up exactly like the original. Its very easy to install, just take the 4 screws for the whole assembly then 2 screws to take the motor off and 2 wire nuts. Also there is a short wire and a long wire on the original motor and new motor is the same so connecting the wires correctly is very simple. So far very happy with the replacement. Hopefully it last for a good while. Some people say it's noisy but I put the new fan blades on and it was a little louder. I then put the original fan on it is a little but quieter but still kinda loud. I think it seems noisy because the motors for these fans slowly get a little weaker over time so when they do finally go out they seem sort of quiet. Couldn't find original replacement so had to work with what I had. Photo show original and new one. Managed to redrill the center shaft hole with a counter sink bit. Has to be 13mm or 1/2 inch. There were two complaints I read. One the fan blows clockwise blowing air and not sucking it up. Two the fan blade is backwards. Well between the two it works. I attached a video of it sucking a piece of toilet paper up. The fan is definitely stronger and of course noisier but I'm not leaving it on while I sleep. Except for the pain in the @@@ installation I think I'll be happy with it.Original post....At first I thought this would be great. In the photos you can see how it's a larger motor and looks like a lot more power than the original that came with my trailer. I knew I'd have to drill holes but didn't think it would be impossible to get things lined up. Also the center hole which the shaft fits through has to be enlarged as well. I have several large drill bits but nothing large enough for that. Without enlarging that it doesn't sit flush. Plus the mount is solid steel. Trying to get holes drilled to line up is impossible.
