Nope, this does not work on the older models. So based on the price for a new set up, I ordered the newer version Aqua Tech 30-60. This part has a lip that fits it perfect. (Yes, the new set up came with one too, but us tank owners always keep extras) Runs very quiet, works great! Review: Cheaper than buying a new filter - This tube and impeller set works perfectly - and if I had a 30-60 filter it would be perfect, lol. I have a 20-40 filter and I bought this set because I needed a replacement ASAP and I read on some of the questions that this one would fit my filter. Well, the impeller does fit the pump housing and it runs great - in fact - too great for the size of my filter. Since the tube is bigger there is more water flow. The tube also is a little longer so it sits higher than the smaller version would. However, if you need something in a pinch - this will work.
