Review: The best budget mic - There is a reason every list of budget microphones has this at the top, it's just flawless. The sound quality is top notch, and build quality is spot on. It has the classic microphone shape, which makes it work in your hand, on a stand, or on your desk. With USB and XLR output it allows you to connect to your PC right away, or upgrade your setup with a mixer later using the XLR output. This package includes a stand, pop filter, and suspension system for the mic. For the money, they're nice. I will say the springs on the stand do make a little noise if you move it abruptly, so it'd keep it still while recording, but it's sturdy, and has a wide range of movement. The pop filter I've found isn't needed as the Samson Q2U includes a foam cover that works pretty well. It's nice the pop filter is included though.

A: It's about the length of MY arm.

**Q: Does it come with cables?**
A: Yes, but I went to Sam Ash to get a longer 12 foot cable which was only about $12.

A: Yes it does. I’m pretty satisfied with the package. Mic is quality for the price.

A: You just need to connect it via USB!

There is a reason every list of budget microphones has this at the top, it's just flawless. The sound quality is top notch, and build quality is spot on. It has the classic microphone shape, which makes it work in your hand, on a stand, or on your desk. With USB and XLR output it allows you to connect to your PC right away, or upgrade your setup with a mixer later using the XLR output. This package includes a stand, pop filter, and suspension system for the mic. For the money, they're nice. The price was reasonable and had everything I needed and then some. My first recording my dog was in the room barking and running around. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty Good, could be slightly better

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Great mic and kit, with a few caveats. After a while the USB cable began to degrade the sound quality, and the MUTE button on the mic no longer works at all. The boom is OK. But not great by any stretch. I never use the pop filter bc it's enormous and bulky for no reason. Also wish they included a wall mount. I picked up an audio interface, (Scarlett), and run it off XLR cable. Major improvement on sound quality. Still wish the mute button didnt die. That's the reason I deducted a star. Will likely go with a Sure next.
