**Q: Does middle portion of the stand actually sit on the ground?**
A: It doesn’t.  At he lowest point in the center, it’s appropriately 1/4” off the ground.

**Q: How long does the bare part of the tree need to be to use this stand? (How far into the stand does it need to be inserted)?**
A: Around 8 inches. You can always cut off lower branches as needed.

**Q: On the steel model it says reservoir holds 2 liters. Is this correct? I feel it has to be more than that.**
A: I believe that is accurate.

Held my 10 1/2ft tree all Christmas! It was so easy to put it into the stand and secure. Held enough water for my tree just be careful not to overfill or it will leak out. I would be confident getting an 11’ or 12’ tree next year. I was worried and didn’t want to spend so much on a stand but you get what you pay for and this stand is great!

Buy once cry once; buy nice or buy twice. That's the motto of this AWESOME made in Germany stand. Steel. Welded.  And you simply open the jaws, set in the tree, straighten it, and then press the foot pedal and you're done.  It's that simple. No more screws and redoing it over and over, crawling on the floor under the tree (which I have done for 48 years before this beautiful thing arrived. If you decide the tree isn't straight later, just release the jaws, adjust, then repress the pedal. One of the best purchases of 2020 for us.

We bought this tree stand last year because our previous tree stand broke and caused the tree to fall shattering a bunch of our ornaments.  Our previous tree stand, which was also rated up to 15 foot trees, never really felt sturdy enough,  This thing is a rock though.  It can take anything you can put in it.  The cables tighten down and hold the tree steady no matter how big and full the tree.  We loved this stand so much, we bought a second one.
