A fresh herbaceous opening is combined with a spicy floral heart, leading onto a rich, woody, amber background with a hint of leather. Honestly, the "hint" of leather is a bit short of reality. This stuff smells like a wet glove. I happen to really like that. The smell doesn't stick around after your shave, so it won't interfere with aftershaves or colognes. As a shaving cream, it works great. Slippery, great lather. All the usual shaving buzz words: stiff meringue, creamy, slick, efficient. This stuff is the standard by which to compare all others. And, a tub lasts a long time.

Very good shaving soap cream (lathers amazingly with very little soap. The scent of Grafton is a very 'clean' slightly soapy piney scent I think. A bit heavier than I would have liked, but as a soap it fades quickly enough. I don't think I'd order the aftershave or balm in this scent. The 1805 is nice and I'm getting ready to try the Trafalgar. TOBS is a very close second for lather quality and comfort. Probably not worth the extra price unless you like this particular scent.
