It was bought as an xmas gift for my 8yr old. He was happy with the design and says it's nice to skate on, smooth, soft wheels. It's build is solid and appears that it will last as long as he wants to skate on it. I'm not convinced it will have the cool factor at the skate park however, but as he's just a beginner, he has plenty of time for his taste to improve.
