I bought the setup used and they initially worked well. I ended up frying the circuits somehow and will have to replace them. Again, I bought the cars with this chip already installed so I have no idea how old or how hard they were ran prior. I hope this helps. **Q: what does digital do?** A: Digital allows you to run up to six cars depending on the control unit. It also allows you to change lanes with the proper track. **Q: Can you fit this chip to a Carrera digital 132car?** A: A carrera digital car already has a chip in it for racing on the Carrera digital system. You would have to remove the original chip and install c7005 for digital racing only on the Scalextric system. Believe the Oxygen system allows you to use their chip for everything but the cost of that system is much higher. As for running on any pure analog system, both the current digital version of carrera and all versions of scalextric allow it , which again believe Oxygen does not. **Q: What makes this specifically for open wheel cars? Can it be used for other body styles?** A: It is a very compact design and needs you to specifically fix the sensor into a hole in the bottom of the car that you will likely have to create depending on the age of the car. The C7006 has the sensor mounted on the card and will not fit the open wheeled cars.
