I vaguely have a memory of a friend using it with her horse over a decade ago. I thought about getting one, never did, and then I forgot about this product until just recently. My one horse is being rehabbed through a very complex abscess(s) which means lots of hoof wrapping. Don't get me wrong, she will stand for it but the Horselyx is a a very welcomed distraction and she stands even quieter for my hubs/farrier! My other horses love it too! I can see this being used as a great distraction tool for various things that keep a horse busy and interested in over whatever thing they are not the biggest fans of- like time consuming hoof treatments, injury wraps, shots (if they aren't severely needle phobic), long grooming sessions etc. My horses don't require sedation for the farrier so I can't attest to it being used for horses instead of sedation for the farrier. I also have used this as a reward after riding/training. Only downside, is depending on how sloppy a licker your horse is it can get messy and sticky lol. But honestly, if you're a horse person it's just part of the territory- getting dirty.
