Also, once a week, (more often if you use it more than once daily) remove the blade, clean the rubber seal with alcohol and Q-tips, and apply a little "Super Lube"(you can find it here on desertcart). Don't worry, it is food grade. I use it on many things. This will preserve your seal, and make it last much longer! Smoothie is NOT a lubricant! Once it gets past the seal, and into the bearings, it won't be long before the seal fails and the bearings burn up! That's how you have leaks, and the blade overheats leading to hot contents, over pressured cups, and potential bursting, especially if the contents are room temperature or higher. I also recommend that when you finish blending and turn the cup over, wet your finger, and touch the metal in the center of the rubber gear. If it sizzles, your bearings are shot! This is dangerous, stop using the blade, and get a new one. I always have one ready. The quality is just like the original. Appears strong and durable and works perfectly with my bullet. Had one experience with the gasket falling out, stays in place all other times. Nb. Gasket should NOT be removed when washing to clean the unit. It loosens the gasket and can cause a leaky mess.
