My husband has been trying to train his beard and found that washing his face with regular soap was causing him to develop beard dandruff. Who knew?! So, I bought him this soap for Christmas. First, the scent is wonderful! You may get a little licorice at first, but that fades very quickly. It's a manly scent and very pleasant. We also love that it's made with natural oils, so it's great for overall skin health! You only need to use a little piece of it though, as it will melt away quickly on a shower shelf! Break off just a bit and keep the rest put away. I actually tried it out on my neck to see what it was like, and I have to say that I'd love to use this as a body soap for myself!!! His beard dandruff has disappeared, so I'd say this was well worth the investment! To my surprise it toned down after use and cleans my beard really well. Does not dry it out and does not leave a heavy smell. Heck I don't think it leaves a smell in my beard period. Really like how well it lathers up, washes clean and my beard feels great. Glad I gave this a try. Its really helped my beard look healthier in appearance and feel. I haven't needed to use an oil or balm in my beard since using this. My beard is soft after use, so no need to use other products at this time. This is my new go to beard wash. My only complaints are that the soap breaks down a little sooner than most soaps and while the smell is refreshing it is not my favorite.
