## Description

Luxfer L6X aluminum cylinder with their CGA320 valve pre-installed at the factory. Typically used for beverage applications.

Review: thankful for this tank full (of CO2) - Excellent tank, fits into a kitchen setting (I use it primarily to carbonate water) without looking too industrial-geek or taking up too much space. As a source of CO2 to carbonate liquids, the tank with its CGA320 on/off valve (included) can be paired with a regulator like the Fizz-Gizz II Soda Rope (http://www.desertcart.com/FiZZ-GiZ-II-Soda-Rope-Carbonation/dp/B00KAJA29K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1434988701&sr=8-2&keywords=fiz+giz). Get a few Fizz-Gizz caps (fit on almost any PET carbonated drink bottle), and you're in business. Blows SodaStream away. With this combination (5 lb CO2 tank and Fizz-Gizz II Soda Rope), one tankful of gas lasts me over a year (carbonating about two 1 L bottles/day). The industry standard for CO2 in carbonated water is 8 g/L. Do the math, and the SodaStream will slip rapidly from your "wish list." I think a SodaStream refill with enough to carbonate 60 L costs $15. One caveat: when you take this tank in to be refilled, make sure you make it clear that you want your own tank refilled, otherwise you'll get an exchange tank (like getting propane tanks for the bbq), and your nice, new tank will be consigned to the world of random exchange tanks. This is not a bad thing......but if you want to keep your own tank, pay attention when refilling. Usually costs about $13 for the 5 lb tank. If your main goal is to carbonate liquids (remembering that with the SodaStream you can only carbonate water), the tank/regulator combo is the way to go.
Review: Great Value and Perfect for what I needed during these times - The tank was perfect, dated 7/ 2020. Since I do not have a refill station anywhere in my area I sadly had to part with it and exchange it. I paid 12.00 for and full exchange at welding supply co. I found out food grade c02 you need a state license to even obtain. I have used the welding co2 before with my paint ball gun refills on soda stream. No issues.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I want to use this 5lb tank to fill paintball canisters- and have been told I need a "syphon tank". What exactly is a syphon tank and is this one?**
A: The siphon tank is the same tank basically but the valve is connected to a tube that goes to the bottom of the tanks that when you open the valve your forcing out the liquid from the bottom up, which is what you want to fill another tank. If you have a standard tank without the siphon tube you could essentially turn the tank upside down and it would do the same thing as if it were a siphon bottle, of course this not an easy way to operate your tank and would opt for the siphon tank instead. Also if you put your smaller co2 bottles that your filling into the freezer beforehand you’ll find it’s easier to fill them that way. They fill better when cold. Thats why you may see someone filling your tank just open the purge valve and dump the co2 in the smaller tank to frost up the outside before trying to fill it. Just remember that your paintball marker is going to run better, more consistent shots, etc when its getting only the gas from the co2, not the liquid. They don’t like the liquid and weren’t designed to work that way, so if your having an issue or hammering down on the trigger until your tank gets all chilled on the outside then you need to incorporate an expansion valve somewhere in the system. This will allow the liquid to turn into a gas before it gets to the valve body. A remote tank that mounts on your waist , like in the back along side your hoppers is another option as the long hose from the bottle to marker will serve as an expansion valve. We would use a hanging fishing scale to do our fills, a 20 0z tank will hold 20 oz of co2. Getting the tank to accept the entire 20 oz is the hard part, at least your not overfilling at that rate. Be safe and have fun. Never risk a shot at someone not wearing the proper headgear/eye protection, use common sense when filling.

**Q: Does this tank come filled?**
A: No, you will need to get the tank filled at a local welding or gas supply company. Many times these shops will swap your empty tank plus payment for a filled tank, so don't get too attached to the shiny new tank as you may be swapping it for one with some scuffs or imperfections.

**Q: Is this a siphon or non siphon tank?**
A: non-syphon tank

**Q: Is this a food grade tank?**
A: Hello K,The tank sold by The Beverage Factory is a food grade tank.Anthony 1-800-710-9939www.beveragefactory.com

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality tank but you will probably never get to use it
*by S***F on April 27, 2013*

Before purchasing this tank you will want to call your local CO2 provider and see if they fill tanks or just exchange them. i live in Southern California and called a ton of places looking to get this tank filled. I finally found a place that would do it but I would have to leave the tank for at least a day and come back for it. I explained that I was paranoid and wanted a nice new tank because it would be in the same room as me. He disappeared for a minute and came back with an almost identical tank that actually has a newer manufacture date and was already filled. He explained that they have to fill out a bunch of paperwork for each batch of tanks they fill so they will not fill just one tank if they can avoid it. He also explained their replacement tanks are all certified and quality checked regularly as required by state regulations. In the end I bought this tank to just swap it for another one.
